I used a promo code on mytrainpal and it did eventually work, but the checkout part was more hassle than it needed to be. I had to enter the code twice before the discount actually showed up, and then it kept asking me to verify things again, which got annoying. Once it finally went through, the booking itself was fine. Not a bad experience overall, but they really need to make the promo code and verification steps smoother.

"Price changed right when I was paying"
I was about to check out and everything looked fine, but after I clicked pay, the fare suddenly jumped. it was annoying because I thought the price was locked in. Maybe it was just a timing thing, but it still felt really frustrating and kind of unfair.

I booked through MyTrainPal and the tickets took ages to come through. I was just sitting there refreshing and getting stressed before my trip, which isn’t ideal when you need everything ready quickly, if that makes sense.

I gave it a try hoping the split ticket savings would make a decent difference, but I didn’t end up saving much. Checking all the tickets and times felt more confusing than helpful, and it had that kind of no real person there feeling when I wasn’t sure about something. Booking was smooth overall, but the confirmation email was kind of unclear about my seat at first. It did end up matching the ticket later, so it wasn’t really a big deal. Just made me go back and double-check everything for a minute...

I was able to book my train tickets through the app, so it does the job, but just a heads up—it can be clunky at times. Some screens load slowly, and a few buttons aren’t very clear, so I found myself tapping around more than I should’ve had to. I also had to restart the app once just to check my ticket, which was frustrating. It’s not the worst app, but don’t rely on it working perfectly if you’re in a rush

I checked a train ticket on mytrainpal last week while planning a quick trip, and then compared it with another site right after. mytrainpal actually came out more expensive, which was disappointing because I’d expected it to help me save a bit. After that, I don’t really see myself checking there again.

I tried booking an international train trip and it kept telling me there were no tickets or that the route wasn’t available, even though other sites were showing options. I spent way too much time changing dates and checking again, and it felt like the goalposts kept moving every time I tried something different. Maybe it works fine for trips within one country, but for international travel it was useless for me.

I tried to book a train ticket and it just felt way more complicated than it needed to be. The pages were loading slowly, the prices seemed to change when I went back and forth, and I kept ending up on the same steps again. After a while I just gave up because it was getting frustrating and I figured... there had to be an easier way

"Got it fixed, just not as quickly as I hoped"
They did end up sorting out my issue, so I can’t really complain about the final result. It just felt like it took longer than it should have, at least in my opinion. Overall, I’m glad it was fixed, but the waiting was a bit frustrating.

I got charged twice for the same payment, and when you reach out to support, you’d expect them to at least sort it out or explain what’s going on. Instead, nothing really got fixed, and I’m still stuck dealing with it

I tried using mytrainpal for what should’ve been a really straightforward journey, and the results were just all over the place. It kept suggesting odd routes and times that made no sense, even though my phone was charged and working fine. I ended up checking another site and found better options immediately. Frustrating when the basic search can’t be trusted.

"Alerts showed up way too late"
I was using mytrainpal mostly for train disruption alerts, and it didn’t really do the job for me. The delay message came through when I was already standing at the station, so by then it was kinda pointless.
The app is fine enough for booking tickets and that side of it, but the alerts need to be much quicker. I could of taken a better route if it updated sooner, so yeah not terrible, just annoying.

I reached out because I was having an issue with my ticket, it felt like they weren’t really reading what I wrote. The replies seemed like copy-paste answers, which is so frustrating when you’re already trying to sort something out. I kept hoping the next message would actually address the problem, but nope. Just kind of went in circles, and it ended up being a waste of time.

I needed to switch my train to a different time and thought it would be straightforward. The app made it seem like it should be easy, but once I tried, there were hardly any exchange options and the fees/restrictions were really frustrating. I kept checking the confirmation emails and receipt details, but it didn’t make things any clearer. Support basically just repeated the ticket rules back to me instead of helping. In the end, I had to buy a whole new ticket. I wouldn’t use MyTrainPal again if there’s any chance my plans might change.

I wish I had paid closer attention before getting to the payment part. The card check made me feel a bit nervous, and it just didn’t come across as very reassuring. Maybe it’s normal, but in the moment it felt a little sketchy, and I regret not looking into it more beforehand.

Tried canceling my ticket and it was such a hassle. App wasn’t clear on the refund, support took ages, and by the time they answered it felt too late. If cancellations are this painful, I’m not using mytrainpal again.
